Mission

PALLAS, just like the HFR, is a necessary ‘instrument’ to continue and expand the activities on the research site at Petten. Behind the realisation of PALLAS, a state-of-the-art research reactor, lies the following mission:

‘PALLAS will make it possible for NRG to become the world leader in the development and production of medical isotopes and to increase the knowledge of and turnover in sustainable nuclear technology.’

The activities of the PALLAS project team are:

To set up the organisation needed to get funded, to design and realise PALLAS
To define the PALLAS technical specifications
To put PALLAS, including the associated infrastructure, out to tender
To apply for and obtain the necessary licences and permits
To supervise PALLAS' realisation and operational handover.
