Knowledge

Europe - and therefore the Netherlands - has set the objective to become the most competitive, knowledge-based economy in the world. This so-called ‘Lisbon’ objective implies that long-term investments will be made based on the turnover for the knowledge-based economy. Criteria are: more graduates in bèta-technical professions, more highly educated people, participation of 20 per cent of the working population in education and training activities.

In all these areas PALLAS will contribute to the achievement of the objectives.

High-quality employment on or around the new reactor will stimulate young people to study at a Technical University. Advancing technical developments and continuing investments will stimulate technicians to keep learning. At the same time, new technical possibilities will lead to innovative products and spin off. The demand for knowledge will lead to training facilities in the immediacy of the reactor.

Both nationally and internationally, PALLAS will be considered as a valuable destination for research, development and production budgets.
