Professional co-operation

NRG is working on the design and construction of a new nuclear reactor, PALLAS, in cooperation with Covidien (Mallinckrodt Medical), the Institute for energy of the European Commission and the Delft University of Technology. The operational life span of the High Flux Reactor extends until after 2015. Given the age of the HFR, and the time necessary to prepare for the construction of a new reactor, NRG began a project in 2004 that should lead to the construction and operation of a new reactor.
